Thai Eagle Rox - 2007

My litmus test for any Thai place would be to see how well they can cook pad thai or barbecue chicken. If I like how well they've prepared those dishes I'll usually come back and try other parts of the menu.

My verdict for Thai Eagle Rox is I'd come back to try the other dishes in their menu.

BCD Tofu House - 2007

From the BCD Tofu House menu I had the number 17. I found it unexceptional. The fish was a small deep fried mackeral. The tofu soup consisted of ...what else tofu... in a chili soup mixture with an egg...all boiling in a very hot stone bowl. There was pickled green beans, pickled dai-go and other assorted pickled items. My disappointment was because I probably expected a bigger fish or more deep fried mackerals. It has a good variety but the whole meal wasn't filling.

Maybe the Beef and Octpus Tofu Soup might have been a better choice. Oh well, there is always a next time.

Little China Express - 2006

Little China Express is a cut above other fast Chinese food places with their wide variety. I alway enjoy the barbecue pork.

Manila Sunset - 2002

Nozawa - 2002

A Japanese owned mom and pop place. When I was craving Japanese food but didn't want to make the trek to Little J-Town and didn't want to spend too much, Nozawa was the spot. The beef and chicken teriyaki with mixed temupura were served on gigantic plates along with miso soup.Scrumptious. They had manga for you to leaf through as you ate your meal. The place also rented out Japanese movies!

I speculate the owners of the restaurant decided to sell their establishment for alot of money. More power to them, but the community of North Hollywood became all the more poorer.
